The Architecture Scotland Annual (ASA) may be a point of familiarity, but the projects contained within are anything but. Standing tall in a library of thousands, our class of 2025 demonstrates that time is every bit as important as space, as we celebrate the moment grounded in a broader perspective that only the distance of decades can provide.
It has been a year of great strides in our collective approach to retrofit, social good and energy efficiency. A triumvirate of qualities that underpin much of the presented work. The ASA reflects those changes and more in a body of work stretching from the Blairgowrie Recreation Centre, Scotland’s first Passivhaus-accredited leisure centre, to the restoration of a far-flung John O’Groats Mill, an industrial survivor where time turns once more.
